where this takes us

20 minutes | Where This Takes Us is a twenty-minute dance film that explores themes of intimacy, risk, communion and alienation and involves the talents of four contemporary dancers and twenty social tango dancers culled from a close-knit community of artists and friends in Los Angeles with roots all over the world. This work uses dance as a metaphor for the way we embrace each other literally and figuratively. It emphasizes social tango as a space (both personal and communal) where bodies come into contact and explore an exchange based on mutual connection; a means of communing with other human beings not colored by its more common associations of sexuality and seduction.
